The Messenger – film production about to start

The production of Gateway Films latest movie The Messenger, is due to start shortly. The principle photography will take place in the beautiful spa town of Buxton in Derbyshire between the 19th July to the 26th August.

buxtonThe Messenger is the next film on the production line from the hugely successful Gateway Films. It is a film about a guy called Jack who is misunderstood, frustrated and scared; he is not mad, he just sees dead people!

Richard Turner said: “The script has the same sensibility as The Sixth Sense. It confronts the question of whether those who see dead people are disturbed, are frauds or visionaries. The film will remain ambiguous in respect of the existence or otherwise of an after-life, but the story-telling will allow the audience to decide themselves as to the integrity of Jack.”

The films finance of £1.5millionhas been raised from private equity raised exclusively by 3 investment firms, one of which is The Wealth Advisory.

David Martin CEO of The Wealth Advisory firm states “I am presented with 10-20 investments a week, however I can honestly say that working with Gateway on this film and the next film Away, offers by far the best investment we have seen for a long time, as well as being the most secure and potentially very lucrative opportunity for my clients.”

Clients who have invested into the production are being invited onto the set during filming and will be given the opportunity to meet the cast, the directors, including the brainchild behind Gateway Films, Terry Stone and various members from the team at The Wealth Advisory.

The Wealth Advisory’s Eight Tips to Investing

Investment TipsThe Wealth Advisory team pride themselves on their relationship with their clients and encourage them to look at their whole investment strategy, goals, criteria and current portfolio. As part of what they do, they wanted to share 8 tips which they feel are key for investors to pay attention to and follow before embarking on any new investments.

Below please find the list, in no specific order, as they are ALL relevant:

1.       Due Diligence

Make sure you do sufficient research on the companies involved, the investment process, the best and worst case scenarios and how your funds will be returned to you. Familiarise yourself with what it is you are investing in and look for third party verification.

2.       Diversity

If you control the downside and diversify your holdings and investments, the upside will take care of itself. Make sure that your money is working its hardest for you, but don´t over expose yourself to too much risk or to too much in one investment. Likewise don´t be too conservative and hold too much in bank accounts or ISA´s generating low income. There should be a good split of cash in the bank, property, stocks and alternative investments.

3.       Independent Advisors

Appoint a trusted advisor. Get to know them and the company they work for. Look for track records and history of success. Don´t be pushed into anything, advice should be purely that, advice, and you should be comfortable and make the final decision. Your advisor should look and advise on your portfolio as a whole and look to build on areas where your portfolio is particularly weak or under-performing.

4.       Tax

Don´t be afraid of tax, if you are paying it on investments it means you are making money. However you should plan and look for ways to offset and reduce your tax bill through efficient tax investments and schemes, as well as using the tax free allocations available to all family members.

5.       Capital Growth

In your portfolio, you should have some investments that are there for the specific purpose of capital growth, i.e. your investment capital will increase in value over a mid to long period of time. Prime examples of these sort of investments are real estate.

6.       Income Generating

As well as capital growth, part of your portfolio should also be generating you a regular income, which you can either then use as part of your disposal income or use to reinvest in something else.

7.       Investment Timeframes

Be aware of what the timeframes are for returns from you investments and plan to have a mixture of short, mid and long term investments in your portfolio.

8.       Investment Amounts

Don´t over exposure yourself, only invest what you can afford to invest, however also making sure that you invest sufficient enough to make it worthwhile investing in the first place!

Plastic_Premier_PhotoAs well as The Wealth Advisory, many celebrities made an appearance, including the films lead actors Ed Speleers, BAFTA-winner Will Poulter and the gorgeous Emma Rigby. Producer Terry Stone believes it is this fact that will make it even more appealing to the public, to think that in this day and age that credit card companies can still be penetrated.

“When I first took the script to some initial meetings, people told me it was too unrealistic and unbelievable, that was until I told them this actually happened and I had spent a few months with a member of the gang who pulled it off, gathering as much information and detail as I could.”

With this film set to be a huge international success, Gateway Films are already working on their next few projects, with funds being raised for both The Messenger and Away through The Wealth Advisory, the former of which is likely to be released before the end of the year.

Managing Director of The Wealth Advisory, David Martin is very optimistic about the future.

Gateway Films have signed Ben Kingsley to play Shah of Iran

footer-logoBen_Kingsley

Sir Ben Kingsley is going to play the role of the Shah of Iran in what is set to be an undoubted worldwide blockbuster, about backstory that led to the Islamic Revolution and hostage crisis at the US embassy in 1979.

Gateway Films, the fastest growing Independent film company in the UK, are the company behind the film and have achieved a massive coup in signing up Ben Kingsley for the role. Terry Stone, of Gateway Films says in reference to Kingsley´s portrayal of the Indian pacifist and politician M K Gandhi.

“To get Gandhi to play Shah, that is great. All our other efforts need to match that ………. It is uncanny, but he even looks like the Shah.”

Terry also comments that there is a need for an Oscar winning director. “We need someone A-rated to work with Sir Kingsley,” and are looking for a director with experience in directing historical dramas.

It is hoped that the film will provide a larger voice to the Iranian cause and offer a more balanced account of events, compared to that of Ben Affleck’s film Argo. In January, the Iranian government said it would back a big- budget movie by a local movie- maker to correct the alleged misconceptions floated by Argo and hope to do this through the movie The General Staff. However due to the experience offered by Gateway Films and Ben Kingsley´s presence, this film should bring more international exposure and has already made it into theIranian press.

Also another major backing from the Iranian government is the fact that they are allowing Gateway Films to film inside the Shah´s palace, the first time anyone has been allowed to do so. Producer Michelle Nicholson, said, “To be able to shoot there will provide that authenticity and personal touch that I would like in the movie,”

As well as the Shah of Iran, Gateway Films are also producing a number of new and exciting films this year. They are currently working with investment firm The Wealth Advisoryto raise the funds fortheir films and offer individual investors the opportunity to be involved in the film industry and Gateway´s continued success.

Terry Stone comments, “I am excited about the new relationship we have in place with The Wealth Advisory. With our combined expertise we plan on producing exciting and successful films both for the investors involved and for the film fans themselves”

2014 therefore looks like another interesting and exciting year for Gateway Films; we look forward to seeing what else they produce.

Alternative Investments for Today’s Economic Climate

Today’s investors are demonstrating strong awareness of the need to diversify their portfolios with a strategic selection of products that are non-traditional. Of course, it is the investors that were burnt in the financial downturn of 2008/2009 that have shown particular keen to limit risk exposure for the future. Therefore, the industry sector has been pushed to investigate and structure investments into alternative products that may balance stock market fluctuations.

It is, of course, the independent behaviour of an alternative investment that has driven its market prevalence. The most devastating negative returns of the financial crisis were mostly attributed to government-regulated investment options such as stocks and bonds. And whilst some have preferred to handle their finances with caution, holding funds within saving accounts, the latest figures show that interest over the past 50 years from banking institutions has barely exceeded inflation. Therefore, the most sought-after alternative investments are the ones that present non-correlated or counterbalancing characteristics.

Investor appetite for alternative products has been fed by the double-digit returns that have recently been generated by these tangible assets. But, there is plenty of room for error and so investments should be wisely selected. The difficulty is that alternative investments portray a more complex nature due to the unique behaviour of each product (therefore preventing the ability to apply one unifying rule as would occur if all products belonged to a single asset class). Therefore, the key to choosing a good, risk-adjusted alternative investment is that it should be capable of sustaining and capturing profits. Some of these alternative investments are even able to provide quarterly yields which enable a cashflow impossible to achieve with traditional investments.

It is also important to understand how an alternative product is suited to the investor. The US Financial Regulatory, FINRA, has actually just expanded their customer profile requirements to ensure that Wealth Advisors have a reasonable store of information from which to base a recommendation. It is always important to understand the individual’s preference for investment returns in terms of income or capital growth and to ascertain a level of risk adversity.

Yet these complexities are obviously not deterring savvy investors. Latest figures from The Financial Reporter show an unprecedented rise in the demand for alternative investments. It is stated that the choice of 50 products in the 2008 has now grown to over 250 today. Property has shown the largest growth factor with a 73% increase in 2012 and now holds 37% of the alternative investments market. For example, investments such as purchasing tenanted property in Florida currently show good potential due to annual net returns of over 8% paid monthly.

Whilst alternative investments are becoming more commonplace, it is not a new concept. High net worth individuals have long since dedicated a proportion of their portfolio to these non-standard investments. The key is to ensure that thorough due diligence is performed prior to investment and to purchase your investment from a trusted Wealth advisor who understands your specific investment requirements.

The Wealth Advisory looks to create an investment portfolio that has ability to endure market changes.
